YouTube Music app worn on the Wear OS 2.0 smartwatch

Wear OS 2.0 works on a number of smartwatches today, but it will soon be eclipsed by Wear OS 3.0. Well, that won’t happen quickly because not all devices can run the new version of Wear OS. This means that Google still has to work on updates to said version, as many portable devices are using it today. We can expect the tech giant to release software updates. As promised, YouTube Music is ready for more Wear OS devices. The YouTube Music app for Wear OS is ready.

This is not only available for Wear OS 3.0 but also for Wear OS 2.0. Initially it is only ready for the new Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. After a few weeks it is now available for current Wear OS 2.0 smartwatches.

However, this is not an official solution. A developer successfully ported the YouTube Music app to Wear OS 2.0. Alexandru Pop share what he did. One problem is that the app does not fit the smartwatch screen properly. It works but the UI doesn’t really look perfect on a small screen.

The app may not work as expected because it is only based on a modified version of the YouTube Music app known as YouTube Music Vanced. The developer used this one to bypass most restrictions and use it without having to log in, especially if the app has already been tampered with. The developer also downloaded the TM Vanced and Vanced microG settings for YouTube Music to work.

Note once again that this is not an official solution. You can try this method but at your own risk. You can get the instructions HERE.
